Osborn encloses a letter from a Professor Bade, a biographer of John Muir [not present], praising Osborn's article on Muir. He explains that he had taken a great deal of pains in the writing of the article and was disturbed by the inclusion of photographs of the Copenhagen jail and Sinclair Lewis, "which are not in accord with Muir." Osborn had sent in a fine photograph of his subject. He concludes by saying that he devoted a great deal of time to the article, but "understands that these illustrations are among the accidents of newspaper make-up, so I am not taking the matter in an unkindly spirit."
